I’ve launched my hugely popular workshop “Creativity to Heal & Empower” as a self-care summer camp for adults in Edmonton! The two sessions start soon, so this is a final notice: if you want to participate, please register asap.

The workshop takes place in my home studio. This is where I work to create my paintings, mixed media art, and also create the costumes for book trailers (like this one for Above the Star novel) and documentary films (like Expecting Sunshine doc).

We will be doing BRAND NEW projects for those of you who have taken the workshop before.

We will be exploring where we are at and growing into our best selves, all through using creativity to heal and empower our lives.

The workshop is one week long, Monday through Friday, 1:00-3:00pm. Each day we will work with a different creative medium: (1) Painting, (2) Writing, (3) Sculpture, (4) Photography, (5) Collage.

We will build new friendships and community, and most of all have fun.

Create a mess YOU DO NOT NEED TO CLEAN UP! Come, connect with your inner child (lol, yes, that sounds so hippy!), and leave feeling replenished for your life. You are worth this special time. It is too easy to give and give, never filling up our own tank. Now is the time. Creativity to Heal and Empower will help.

At the heart of this, I want to spoil participants, and parents who do so much for their kids. SELF-CARE. This is YOUR TIME to do something NICE FOR YOURSELF. YOU DESERVE IT. Really, you do.

I hope you will join me in this SUMMER CAMP FOR ADULTS. No sleeping bag required!

Please help me spread the word. If you know someone who needs this, please share it with them.

The class sizes are limited, to keep things personal and casual (and so we will have space to spread out and make our art).

If you love paint night, you will *LOVE* this class, though you will come out with art that is all your own.

The workshop will run twice this summer:

Week 1: July 9 – 13

Week 2: July 16 – 20

FAQ

Q: Why should I take the “Creativity to Heal & Empower” workshop?

Life is busy and we don’t always get the time to do things for ourselves. While you are planning your children’s summer activities, or wondering what to do on your stay-cation, why not do something nice for yourself? No matter what you have been through, or whether you are struggling right now, or just feel stuck in a funk, creativity is one amazing way to help yourself cope and thrive – and not just thrive, but empower yourself to live a happier, healthier, and more fulfilled life. That is what this workshop is all about.

Q: What will we be doing in the workshop?

A: Each day will begin with a short inspirational lesson and art instruction. Then the group will be free to create and get to know each other. The workshop will end with sharing the projects made that day.
