The summer always flies by (too fast for my liking), however September rocks! Is it just me, or does September feel like New Year’s? Its a time I love to set goals, get re-focused, and catch up with friends.
When I reflect on my summer, I’m hit by a wave of fatigue. It was the perfect storm of deadlines… one deadline after another. I may have escaped a bit with my family, but my to-do-lists followed me. (Think: theme song to Jaws!)
I finally finished a big review of the copy edit for book three in my fantasy series, called The 8th Island Trilogy. The novel is called Inside the Sun and its the culmination of a wild adventure for the Wellsley family, specifically teenager Ella, her mom Tessa, and her grandpa Archie. Inside the Sun comes out April 2020, BUT BEFORE THEN: book two, called Below the Moon, officially releases this October 15!
Book one in the trilogy is called Above the Star! Click here to learn more and read the book!
Next on my goal list:
- Paint the illustrations for Inside the Sun – and guess what?? I’m going to do a video series sharing my working process and how the artwork comes together! Fun stuff! Subscribe to my YouTube channel (click here) to get notifications. Yay!
- Add to my painting series called “Joy + Passion” (see the series by clicking here). These new paintings will be exhibited at the Renaissance Edmonton Airport Hotel the months of December 2019 and January 2020. Currently, the “Joy + Passion” series is white, silver, gold, black, and red. I’m going to keep the black and white and metallic colors but swap out the red-tones for BLUE! It’s a new evolution of the series, like I feel a new evolution of my work as an artist. Always changing and growing!!
